The Key to a Successful Online Revenue Stream

Online affiliate marketing programs have only come to the forefront of business marketing strategies in the last 15 years. As Internet commerce grew, so did an affinity for retailers to use affiliate programs. In 2011, the trend shows no signs of slowing down. For those who do not know what affiliate programs are, they are paid referral systems.

Essentially, when a consumer goes to a website, such as a blog, he will view advertising. This advertising can be in the form of anything from a pop-up ad to a banner ad to an image ad. These ads are typically provided by a merchant that has linked with that blog or website as part of an affiliate program. If the consumer who visits that particular website chooses to click on any of the aforementioned ads, she will be taken to that merchant’s website. When this occurs, the owner of that website gets a revenue stream from the merchant. Depending on the affiliate contract, this revenue could increase should the consumer buy an item on the merchant’s site.

There are many affiliate programs out there. Commission Junction and Link Share have long been the top affiliate programs; however, some new upstarts — most notably Instant Cash Empire — have risen in the ranks.  When choosing which affiliate program to rely on, the key is to focus on the one that can best supply you with a revenue stream. To gain a quality revenue stream, you must link with an affiliate program that has products which are geared toward your audience. If the products or ads do not entice your readers, then they will not be likely to go to the merchant’s site. This in turn does not produce any revenue for anyone.

Each affiliate program has strength and weakness. Knowing your reader’s and target audience is essential to having a successful revenue stream for both publisher and merchant.

Internet TV

Cable TV and satellite TV services continue to become more expensive. This has millions of consumers turning to the Internet for free TV. There are numerous sites that offer free TV. Movie sites are also becoming more popular especially since you can purchase a device that will allow you to stream movies on your television set.

Most new computer models and televisions can now be connected. This is the best way to watch TV. It can be uncomfortable sitting in front of your computer to watch your favorite television program. Most people enjoy relaxing on the couch while watching television on their big screed TV.

The down side is that you cannot watch your program until after it has aired on the network. If you have a slow Internet connection, then you will probably not enjoy the experience as much. As consumer demand increases for Internet TV options, companies will come up with innovative technologies to make the experience better.

There are hundreds of web sites that promise hundreds of channels for free. These sites usually require you to buy a software program. Many of these programs charge a one-time fee of up to $50. You should do thorough research before choosing one of these programs. Search for online reviews before choosing. The benefit of the Internet is it gives people a place to make their complaints public, especially when they feel they have been ripped off.

Internet TV is really in its infancy. As with all technology, it will surely improve in the very near future. Consumer demand is very high for more affordable television. The economy is tough and many people have to cancel their cable or satellite television service due to the high prices. As always, consumer demands will be met and we may see vast improvements for Internet TV.

The High Price of Bandwidth

Maybe you have a great idea for the next great website. You have determined what the market is for your product or your site. Perhaps you have the game plan and a basic layout for the site all in your head. Perhaps you are already dreaming of ways to take the Cyber world by storm. Your ambition should be applauded but that doesn’t mean everything is ok. What you think is just an easy path to riches and fortune and the envy of all your friends could mean a lot more of something you weren’t anticipating. That something is money and unless you are ready you might buy the domain and not have the bandwidth to promote it.

Here’s the thing about a website: it’s a lot more money than you might think. The cost to buy a website it pretty simple and inexpensive but the cost to use that website to it’s fullest might be more than you bargained for. A site like youtube cost’s a lot more money than your average site. When you buy a website you are buying the domain name. What you are not buy is the bandwidth and the space it takes to run that site effectively. A website, like the aforementioned Youtube, takes a massive amount of bandwidth because those videos are big and it requires a big processor to fix them. This doesn’t mean that your website is going to cost what other websites do it’s that you should be prepared.

Look into the prices of bandwidth before you agree to do anything. Whatever it costs make sure that you have the money to cover the expenses of it for a year or even longer. It won’t be more than a few hundred bucks but that doesn’t mean you have the money to afford it. Get that straight before you buy anything.

How Blogs Make Money

The internet is a great place to make money and sometimes that money comes in ways you don’t even realize. The next time you are on your friends blog or the next time you are on that low rent sports page you should take the time to look at the entire page and you might just be finding out that there is more money to be made on that page than you ever thought before.

Most blogs and websites out there don’t operate of their own accord. Sure the content on the site might be that of the blog authors but that doesn’t mean that everything you see is theirs. For instance, all the advertising on the side of the page and underneath the content is all by an ad company. Here’s the way it works in many cases: these sites contact advertising companies about being a part of their network. The ad companies decide if there is enough traffic for them to bother. They agree in many cases and work out a price. Many times it’s a per click price. So for every 1000 page views the ad agency might put out 5 dollars to the owner of the website. This happens and perhaps the web owner is contracted with several different web pages. Then as the clicks come in there is more than just a few networks at work. All of this is working to earn the owner of the website money. Of course there are times when a company will come along and ask to rent out the entire ad space on the site for a flat fee. Say 3 weeks for 2,000 dollars. The fact of the matter is that there is more than enough money to be made online and next time you are on a website you can look and see for yourself.

For all the good things that the Internet can do for you there is so much more about it that we have to be scared of. The problem with giving people the world at their fingertips is that you cannot always trust the world and what they intend to do with that power. For every website you go on where you can buy food and services there are a number of websites out there that are designed to take your money and leave you scrambling for an explanation as to how you could be so gullible and get duped. The truth is that sometimes the guys who are scamming you are very good. Here are a couple of ways you can avoid getting scammed online:

Don’t Answer Emails

The better advice is don’t even open the emails if they are from someone you don’t know. And no matter what those emails say make sure you leave them right where they are. There is nothing that spells trouble than an email from someone who claims to be something, anything that they might not be.

Avoid Non Trusted Websites

If you are online using a search engine many times there are sites that have a green check mark. These sites are verified and trusted to be good. These are the sites you can go on. This doesn’t mean that the other sites are bad but rather that you are better off staying to the sites you can trust, especially when it comes to putting in your money. Be careful and don’t pay for anything even if you have the slightest inclination that there might be a problem. The internet is a great place to find great deals and learn a lot but it could all blow up in your face if you aren’t careful and allow yourself to get duped.
